Intro to Professional Selling

  • Course Focus – In the course, I learned how to tailor my communication style to different personality types and customer scenarios. We focused on not just delivering a message, but truly listening to the client to understand their underlying needs and motivations. Through role-play and feedback, I refined my ability to ask meaningful questions, read body language, and use tone and language to build rapport and trust quickly.
  • Selling Techniques – I learned how to take a customer-focused approach to sales by asking strategic questions, identifying needs, and tailoring solutions. Using frameworks like SPIN Selling, I practiced guiding conversations to add value and build trust, positioning myself as a problem-solver rather than just a seller.
  • Objection Handling and Closing Strategies – We were taught structured methods to address common objections with professionalism and confidence. I also learned how to identify buying signals and apply different closing strategies, like the assumptive close, to advance or finalize the sale, always while maintaining integrity and focusing on the client’s best interest.
  • Role-Playing Exercises – The course features extensive role-playing exercises that provide hands-on experience and help students develop practical sales skills in a structured, low-risk environment.
  • Communication Skills – The class emphasizes strengthening both verbal and non-verbal communication skills to effectively engage clients and build strong, professional relationships.

Creativity and Entrepreneurship

  • Course Focus – This course explores the intersection of creative thinking and entrepreneurial practice. It emphasizes developing innovative problem-solving skills, identifying and evaluating business opportunities, and transforming ideas into viable ventures.
  • Innovative Problem-Solving – I learned various creativity techniques like brainstorming, mind mapping, and design thinking to approach business challenges from new angles. This helped me develop the ability to generate unique ideas and practical solutions that drive innovation.
  • Opportunity Recognition – I developed skills to scan markets, analyze customer needs, and identify unmet demands or emerging trends. This sharpened my ability to spot promising entrepreneurial opportunities and assess their potential for success.
  • Pitching and Presentation Skills – Through practice and feedback, I learned how to craft clear, persuasive business pitches that highlight value propositions and market potential. This includes storytelling techniques to engage investors and stakeholders effectively.
  • Website and Presentation Creation – In this course, I developed skills in creating both a website and a PowerPoint presentation to professionally showcase an original invention, combining technical proficiency with effective storytelling and design principles.

Debt and Money Markets

  • Course Focus – This course examines the structure, function, and participants of global debt and money markets. It emphasizes the valuation and analysis of fixed-income securities, the determinants of interest rates, and the role of yield curves in economic forecasting.
  • Fixed-Income Securities – Learned how to value, analyze, and compare bonds, treasury securities, and other fixed-income instruments based on price, yield, and maturity.
  • Interest Rate Determination – Studied how monetary policy, inflation expectations, and market demand impact interest rate levels and trends.
  • Global and Regulatory Influences – Understanding how international markets, central bank actions, and regulatory frameworks affect debt and money market operations.
  • Bond Pricing and Duration Analysis – Applying duration, convexity, and other measures to assess interest rate sensitivity and manage risk.

Supply Chain and Operations Management

  • Course Focus – This course examines the strategies, processes, and tools used to design, manage, and optimize supply chains and operations. It emphasizes aligning supply chain activities with business objectives, improving efficiency through lean and continuous improvement methods
  • Supply Chain Strategy and Design – Learned how to design and align supply chain operations with overall business objectives to improve efficiency, responsiveness, and competitiveness.
  • Inventory Management and Demand Forecasting – Gained skills in balancing inventory levels, applying forecasting models, and reducing excess stock while meeting customer demand
  • Logistics and Distribution Management – Studied how to manage transportation, warehousing, and distribution networks to ensure timely and cost-effective product delivery.
  • Supplier Relationship and Risk Management – Learned how to evaluate, select, and manage suppliers, while identifying and mitigating potential risks in the supply chain.
